This scene in actor/director Todd Field’s movie In the Bedroom where Sissy Spacek slaps Marisa Tomei in the face audibly smartly over her son’s death left a lasting impression on me and my mind’s eye has been seeing it from time to time since. Todd Field’s other movie Little Children which stars Kate Winslet and Jennifer Connelly is also immensely enjoyable.
